Roll It Up Chalk Mat

So I was looking around the a crafting website I frequent when we were visiting the in-laws in Ohio.  I knew that if I was going to find a project I might need help with, I needed to do it then.... or I was going to have to wait until we visited my parents at the end of June. I stumbled on a Chalkboard mat. GENIUS.  Not only did it look super simple, but it was so convenient.  I did Riley's just as the tutorial outlined, but have since made some alterations. I've changed dimensions, pocket sizes, closure, and a few other minor things.

Seriously, this thing is GREAT! Riley loves that she can color on it and wipe it off... then color some more!

Here is the new one that I'm listing on etsy..

We've converted.

So we got a new vehicle this weekend. It is a minivan. That is right. We've been converted. We've moved from a {small} SUV to a minivan. I wish we had done it a long time ago. It has so much room.  But I digress.

I really want to try to keep this car a lot cleaner than our other one. But it was rainy this weekend and Riley already got dirt in it. Fantastic. She loves to get herself up in to her carseat, so little foot prints are inevitable. I needed a solution. I wanted a car seat protector. However, the ones in the store are not cute, they are super bulky and put a lot of space between the carseat and the seat itself, and not practical. I needed something that would protect the seat from food nastiness and dirt on the front from little shoes.  I also needed something I could easily wash, but not have to continually uninstall and reinstall the carseat. And this is what I came up with... it was so easy.

The seat cover...

Unsnapped...

On the seat...

And detached...

Neopolitan Rag Quilt

That's what I'm calling this one! I was a little worried when I started it about how it'd turn out. I just wasn't convinced when I laid it all out that I was totally in love, but it was the best layout I could figure!

I'm so in love with it and I'm so sad to ship it off! Haha!

Busy, Busy!

Well there hasn't been an update in a while... let me tell you. That day time job I go to - I LOVE it - has been absolutely INSANE lately. Literally. I mean, running after some of my 'friends' and having to carry them out of the classroom. I mean,  no pretty site when you are only 5'1" and the kids are nearly the same size as you.

However... I've been working very hard on several projects! I've finished several different pillowcase dresses. Those ship Thursday. I'm in the midst of finishing a BEAUTIFUL rag quilt.  I'll give you a sneak peak at one of the fabrics, but that is it until it's completed. It should be up on Thursday. I'm super excited. Before Friday, I will be shipping off a snack bag (along with a surprise for that customer!) and 2 more sets of the Moose & Zee pillows!

I told you... it's been busy! Oh and with my own little ones... well we switched their rooms. That means redecorating. Look for a post on that, too!

Now for your glimpse in to what's to come...
